Starbucks first came on the scene in the UK back in 1998 but it seems like there have never been a time without them. This is certainly true of our three city centre branches, one at the corner of Hanover Street, one at the corner of Castle Street, and one on Princes Street overlooking the castle. Which is your favourite will certainly depend on your mood. Hanover Street it brighter and busier with huge floor to ceiling windows facing the busy intersection. There are usually groups of tourists jostling for space with local shoppers. The atmosphere is friendly, as are the hard-working staff. Never a dull moment at this branch, a great place to catch up with friends or pop in for a quick pick me up.
The Starbucks on the corner of George Street and Castle Street branch feels a bit more refined than the one on Hanover Street. It is darker and cosier, filled with more local professionals than tourists most days. This branch is the better choice for work meetings, or just cosying up in a corner and enjoying the newspaper or taking advantage of the free wifi and having a browse on your phone.
The crown jewel of all the city centre locations has got to be Princes Street. It’s where we like to have meetings, or bring tourist friends to show off. You just cannot beat the excellent view of the castle from every window. Plus, its very spacious with loads of seating options making it comfortable for any occasion.
No matter which branch you pop into you know that with Starbucks, you will never have to worry about the quality of your drink, food, or location – they will always be excellent.
